Clareville, weekend cottage renovation
Our clients wanted the renovation of their Clareville Beach weekender to retain the essential 'beach house' character, while giving them a more substantial home and maximising space on the upper level without increasing the overall footprint.
The house was small cramped and had been poorly altered and added too over the years and this, coupled with termite damage, resulted in a lot of the structure being re-built during the renovation work.
A stunning upper studio annex was created, encompassing a master bedroom suite with lounge and ensuite bathroom and a large covered deck from which the extensive Pittwater views can be enjoyed. Walls of glass and louvered windows catch the breezes from all directions, and bring the beautiful bush and water views into the room to create a feeling of calm space. The illusion of much larger spaces is enhanced further throughout the home, with the use of continuous floor coverings and sleek custom made joinery. An open galley kitchen with breakfast bar and the re-design of the downstairs bedrooms and bathroom creates a wonderful impression of space full of natural sunlight. A modern, earthy outside colour schemes blends beautifully with the natural bush environment.
What started as just a renovation, has resulted in a new house.
