Since 1970 the various iterations of Jansen Design and Architecture have designed as many as 200 residential projects, including low and medium rise, and medium and high density; as well as multi-million dollar commercial, industrial and retail developments including projects for Felton Industries, Bing Lee, Joyce Mayne, Mobex Electronics, Linde Gas; and aged persons accommodation in Dee Why, Auburn and Bayview. The projects list also includes a regional airport terminal, libraries, two grandstands, schools, hotels and an Olympic pool.
Although never awards-focused, we did "score a few" a few including The Pittwater Council Civic Design Award in 2004 and 2006 and we were runner up in the NSW Architects Registration Board award for "excellence in the delivery of Architectural Services" in 2007. In 2011 our Bayview project received the MBA award for "excellence in housing under $2.5m".
Naturally with so many projects I've had a large range of client tastes to learn and satisfy: these two examples illustrate a modern open plan house nestled into a very steep site at Newport and a classic Australian Georgian style for a collector of fine Australian cedar furniture, who wanted a showcase for his collection.
